Then I thought it would be nice to have a mouse as well and rustled up two butterscotch chippets that were stuck together. A small star sprinkle in the middle finished off the clock. I then sliced a little cheese for the arms (and mice like cheese as well-maybe that’s why the mouse was up the clock in the first place?). The numbers can also be used for learning to count and number recognition. I found a Digestive biscuit and wrote the numbers of the clock on the back side using an edible ink pen. I thought it would be cute to make this mouse and clock for a bit of fun, and it didn’t take long, just using things from the cupboards. We ended with “Hickory Dickory Dock, the Mouse Ran up the Clock”, singing all three verses (I didn’t realise there was more than one verse until a few weeks ago). Tristan has always watched, but only very recently become interested in doing them himself, so with the three of us, it’s much more fun than me on my own amusing the neighbours through the windows! ![]() We were singing some nursery rhymes and acting them out together. This afternoon we needed to liven things up a little as we didn’t go out for our walk as there was quite a heavy constant drizzle and we hadn’t had a home-day for a while. We had a wonderful day together playing and reminiscing with my old toys that arrived in the post from Nana. Today I had a lovely day alone with my two children as I wasn’t “working” (childminding) due to the school midterm break.
